Dr. Zhe Zhang obtained her Ph.D. degree in Medical Sciences in Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, after getting a Master degree in Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and her medical degree in Zhejiang University, China. After 5 years of post-doc fellowship in Catholic University of Leuven, she joined Institute Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In her 20 years¡¯ academic career, she mainly focused on molecular basis of human diseases (cancer & diabetes). She was in charge of multiple national research projects, authoring 20+ scientific publications in areas of cell biology and molecular biology.
Afterwards, she moved to industry and has become experienced in new drug targets identification & validation and lead molecules development. She has led her team to successfully deliver dozens of Pre-clinical Candidates in the area of oncology, immunology & metabolic diseases for both innovative small molecule drugs and biologics.
She is currently the Executive Director of Discovery Biology, Biologics in Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine Co., Ltd.
